THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL NGOS IN ADVANCING HUMAN RIGHTS
Abstrakti
This article examines the crucial role of international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the protection and promotion of human rights on a global scale. It explores the diverse activities and strategies employed by these organizations to advance human rights, including advocacy, research, capacity building, and collaborative partnerships. The article highlights the areas in which NGOs operate, such as policy change, protection of human rights defenders, support for marginalized groups, and engagement with international human rights mechanisms. It also discusses the collaboration between NGOs and other stakeholders, such as governments, academia, and the private sector, in achieving sustainable and rights-based development. The article underscores the significance of international NGOs in addressing human rights challenges and fostering a culture of respect for human dignity, while also considering the limitations, ethical considerations, and future prospects for their engagement in human rights protection.
