Abstrakti

This paper explores the third party mediation process in conflicts situations, particularly in the analysis of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and shows the role of the mediation as the process, during which the parties to the conflict with the help of a neutral intermediary identify problems and identify ways to resolve conflicts. The factors of this study evaluate effective implementation of mediation such as the willingness of parties to make concessions, neutrality of mediators and balance of power between mediating parties. Examples of certain types of conflicts demonstrate the need to develop various alternative dispute resolution strategies according to the specifics of a particular dispute.
